A computer stores every action performed on it and it is found in the history tab. You may not need the history of the activities any more so you would want to erase it and clean up your computer. The history of the recent past only may be needed but not all the previous ones. All actions stored will occupy space and hence may slow down the working of the computer and hence its efficiency. National interest is also of major interest to many people. As a group of people head through their lives, united with others of the same nationality, they must want to know where the group as a whole is headed. Frustration with events beyond one’s control elicits words that can only have their full meaning in poetry. They help each person express their feelings and frustrations and hopes for their home country.
But some people are bad they are irresponsible. They do not care about the commitments and obligations that they have already made. It has always Comics studies taken powerful social movements to move this nation forward. Where would Lincoln have been without the abolitionist and free soil movements? Where would Roosevelt have been without the labor movement and the CIO (Congress of Industrial Organizations)? Where would JFK and Lyndon Johnson have been without the civil rights movement and organizations like SNCC (Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee)?
Although I taught Advanced Placement US history for many years my true love is European History, especially the 1700s,1800s,1900s. So many kings and queens and court intrigue! Story after story! Human beings have always learned best through stories. Before written language, our history was kept and passed on by the storyteller. That’s still the best way to teach it. History is just a collection of stories. So teach it Poetics that way! Stories stick in kid’s minds but facts and dates don’t.
Plants, and especially large trees, are studies in perseverance. They send out roots and leaves to seek the nutrients and sunlight they need to survive. Let them inspire you to keep trying and searching for whatever you need in life to thrive.
Reduces Stress: Wow, that’s interesting! Think about it, when you’re reading you sit in a quiet place, still your mind and focus on reading. Your mind slows down and you’re generally calm and relaxed. This relaxed state is similar to meditating and kids will benefit in developing the habit of relaxation.
TRAVEL THROUGH TIME – Find local attractions that are of historical significance, and if you can afford it, get out of the US! I recently traveled to see an operating hundred year old Cotton Gin in Burton, TX—only an hour from Houston, where I live. There are attractions of this sort throughout the country. Certainly, Civil War re-enactments abound. But beyond that, do whatever you can to jump overseas. Plan a trip to Rome, Athens, or Paris at least once in your kids’ education. And get them involved in the planning. Putting together a family vacation to see famous historical places is a great homeschooling project!
The team I worked with this week was formed from a very special people. The artists, curators, interns and everybody helped making this dream happen. I am really proud of them and I feel happy. The amount of knowledge and experience I got from working and talking to them. It was invaluable.
